Meet the eligibility criteria for provisional SPM membership
All training providers looking for recognition of their training by the SPM must first become provisional society members by completing the eligibility criteria. After you have become a provisional member, you will be able to start your accreditation journey with PD:Approval.
Step 2
Purchase the Accreditation Pack for your discipline
Choose your qualification under the Get Accredited tab, look through the evidence criteria and review the units, assessment and Supported Learning Hours for the discipline you have chosen to ensure you can meet all the requirements. Then contact us to purchase your Accreditation Pack containing the full mapping toolkit, assessment strategy and a Resource Bundle to help you create your evidence. We will send you a pack and also appoint a Submission Support Manager to guide you towards submission.
Step 3
Work with your Submission Support Manager to collate your evidence
Use the Accreditation Guide and your Submission Support Manager to help you collate your evidence. The guide provides details of all the evidence you need to provide so do check it thoroughly to ensure you have everything ready to submit. Remember you will have the Resource Bundle which contains ready made resources to support your accreditation submission, and a Mandatory Units manual and MCQs for the Anatomy & Physiology unit available to purchase if you don't have your own.
Step 4
Submit your application online
The online submission process lets you collate your evidence at your own pace by allowing you to save it as you go and return to it later. Please ensure you use the save facility on the submission form before starting to upload information, so that you can save as you go. It’s also a good idea to first save all evidence on your own computer in one place before adding it to the online submission form.
Step 5
Receive your technical evaluation report
Your submission is evaluated against the SPM Standards by an independent qualified sector expert who will provide a detailed report within 15 working days*. The report will tell you if the criteria has been achieved for Approval. However, if actions are required the report will provide detailed feedback with an appropriate time frame for completion of the actions.

Step 6
Submission approved
Congratulations on your approval! Time to celebrate and shout about your achievement. We will send you a full set of accreditation logos to use in your marketing and a Certificate of Authentication, and you will be allocated an External Quality Assurer (EQA) who will get in touch to arrange a visit to observe your student assessments, systems and processes. You will also receive access to your Accreditation Dropbox and can open an account on the PD:Portal to promote your accredited qualification.
Step 7
EQA and Annual Renewal
An External Quality Assurer will be allocated to you at approval. During your accreditation year and before your annual renewal, you will receive an EQA visit or undertake a desk-based check. To ensure that there is no gap between your accreditation periods we will contact you before the renewal date with a reminder and full details of how to start your new annual accreditation.
