Certificate in Gym Instructing
Gain accreditation with PD:Approval to offer learners a prestigious qualification that is recognised by REPS India and welcomed by employers. Health clubs, fitness and sport centres are looking for skilled and professional instructors to perform a range of roles supporting and motivating clients to get active, stay active and healthy, they may also be required to manage gym inductions, produce a variety of programmes and fitness initiatives to ensure the members and clients are training in a safe and effective manner.
The Certificate in Gym Instructing qualification requires 150 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 75 hours Face-to-face Tuition Hours (FTH), 24 hours of which must be practical.
REPS India is a member of the International Confederation of the Register of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs). PD:Approval offers accreditation to training providers so that learners can benefit from training mapped to REPS India standards which will allow learners who have passed your assessment to not only gain membership with REPS India, and also professional recognition in the other ICREPs member countries.

Only certificates issued in this manner will be accepted by REPS India for entry to the register and recognised by the other ICREPs member countries.

Certificate in Group Exercise (freestyle)

Group Exercise Instructor (freestyle) focuses on the delivery of exercises to a group. Music may or may not be involved in the session; where music is involved clients may not be expected to work to the beat and phrase of the music and original choreography is not a requirement of this qualification.

Qualified Pilates Teachers possess the knowledge and skills necessary to support and motivate clients in achieving their goals, and have more impact on a client’s performance and achievements, tailoring programmes and workouts to meet their specific needs.
Pilates accreditation is available for the following three qualifications:
Certificate in Pilates Matwork - Mandatory, Pilates Core and Matwork units
Deliver Pilates Matwork as a standalone accredited programme and give learners a recognised foundation for a career in Pilates teaching.
Qualification Hours:
- Certificate in Pilates Matwork (including Mandatory and Pilates Core units - no prerequisite): 295 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 49 face-to-face tuition hours (FTH), 35 hours of which must be practical delivery in a studio setting.
- Certificate in Pilates Matwork (including Pilates Core units - prerequisite Diploma in Personal Training accredited by PD:Approval): 125 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 36 face-to-face tuition hours (FTH), 27 of which must be practical delivery in a studio setting.
Certificate in Pilates Reformer - Mandatory, Pilates Core and Reformer units
Deliver Pilates Reformer as a standalone accredited programme and offer learners a recognised route into specialist Reformer teaching. This certificate can be used towards the Diploma in Pilates Comprehensive.
Qualification Hours:
- Certificate in Pilates Reformer (including Mandatory, Pilates Core and Reformer units - no prerequisite): 335 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 70 face-to-face tuition hours (FTH), 51 of which must be practical delivery in a studio setting.
- Certificate in Pilates Reformer (including Pilates Core and Reformer units - prerequisite Diploma in Personal Training accredited by PD:Approval): 165 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 57 face-to-face tuition hours (FTH), 43 of which must be practical delivery in a studio setting.
Diploma in Pilates Comprehensive - Mandatory, Pilates Core, Matwork and Comprehensive units
Offer a complete accredited Pilates programme that equips learners with the knowledge and skills to teach across multiple Pilates disciplines: Matwork, Reformer, Trapeze Table/Tower, Chairs, Barrels, Accessories including Ped o Pul.
Qualification Hours:
- Diploma in Pilates Comprehensive (including Mandatory, Pilates Core, Matwork and Comprehensive units - no prerequisite): 710 guided learning hours, which must include 239 face-to-face tuition hours, 173 hours of which must be practical delivery in a studio setting.
REPS India is a member of the International Confederation of the Register of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs). These qualifications will provide a category of membership which will be recognised for international portability under ICREPs. Certificate and Diploma in Personal Training

Qualified personal trainers possess the knowledge and skills necessary to support and motivate clients in achieving their goals, and have more impact on a client’s performance and achievements, tailoring programmes and workouts to need their specific needs.
The Certificate in Personal Training qualification (pre-requisite the Certificate in Gym Instructing) requires 200 guided learning hours (GLH) which must include at least 102 Face-to-face Tuition Hours (FTH), 50 hours of which must be practical.
The Diploma in Personal Training qualification (incorporating the Gym Instructor units) and requires 275 guided learning hours (GLH), which must also include at least 150 Face-to-face Tuition Hours (FTH), 75 hours of which must be practical.

Specialism Training
20 CPD points
Specialism Training can be developed by an employer in-house or by a private training provider and whilst it must map 100% to REPS India standards to ensure an industry benchmark is met, you have the autonomy to add more contextualised content to the course and assessment – a huge benefit when developing your universal selling point to learners.
All Specialism Training is certified as full qualifications however do not give your learners entry to the REPS India register in their own right, they must have a REPS India entry qualification as a prerequisite to the Specialism Training they have achieved in order to join the register and have their specialism recognised.
Each Specialism Training discipline can be accredited individually as Pay as You Go (PAYG) accreditations, however the Special Population disciplines can also be accredited as an Unlimited accreditation which, once you are approved for one Special Populations discipline, would enable you to gain endorsement for all your CPD (Assessed, Non-Assessed, Informal, Event) as well as additional Special Population specialisms without incurring further submission fees. Both options will provide you with continuing support from a dedicated External Quality Assurer.

Diploma in Special Populations

Gain accreditation with PD:Approval for this diploma in order to offer learners a qualification that is recognised by REPS India and welcomed by employers. The Diploma in Special Populations qualification requires 300 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) which must include at least 225 Face-to-face Tuition Hours (FTH), 120 hours of which must be practical. The Diploma must map 100% to the REPS India standards for each discipline.
Please note, the Diploma in Special Populations does not give entry to REPS India but provides a qualification that is recognised by REPS India and provides CDP points for its members. The Diploma in Special Populations is the mandatory prerequisite for members who wish to undertake other approved training in the Special Populations disciplines.

Assessed Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
8-20 CPD points
An assessed training programme must have a mandatory assessment (formative or summative) linked to the programme learning aims and outcomes. Guided Learning Hours (GLH) must be a minimum of 8 hours and may incorporate the assessment, pre-course study and break times. All training must be underpinned by current, valid research and be evidence based.
Please note: If you are applying for an Assessed Unlimited endorsement, you must submit a programme that meets the Assessed endorsement criteria.

Non-Assessed Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
4-7 CPD points
A non-assessed programme must have formative learning checks (for example, quizzes, scenarios, questions, group work) that are linked to the learning aims and outcomes. Non-assessed training programmes that are of a practical nature may be delivered online, however face to face delivery is encouraged. Guided Learning Hours (GLH) must be a minimum of 4 hours. All training content must be underpinned by current valid research and be evidenced based.
Please note: If you are applying for a Non-Assessed Unlimited endorsement, you must submit a programme that meets the Non-Assessed endorsement criteria.

Informal Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
1-3 CPD points
Informal training does not require formal learning checks as it is predominantly research, practical training or self-directed learning e.g. short workshops, master classes, pod casts, book reviews. However, all training in this category must be underpinned by current, valid research and be evidence based. Endorsement is for informal training that is at least one hour long.
Please note: If you are applying for an Informal Unlimited endorsement, you must submit a programme that meets the Informal endorsement criteria.

Event Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
1-2 CPD points
Event endorsement is for organised shared learning opportunities, including online e.g. conferences, seminars, forums, webinars and practical demonstrations. Endorsement is for ONE event and will last for the period of the event, after which all logos must be removed.
